Light Industries is a family-owned and operated business, founded in 1953 and established to manufacture acrylic watch glasses.

The company was purchased in 1976 by the family of Charles Tate, an accomplished tool production engineer and certified fitter with more than 45 years of industry experience.

Light Industries was then moved to Bowral in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

Production of watch glasses continues today, however, the business has expanded to produce innovative items for display cases, brochure and magazine stands, dividers for food, and more.

For more than 40 years, we have been supplying safety lenses and visors, as well as other components, to a leading safety company. We also supply various acrylic products to one of Australia’s largest petrol companies.

We own a seriously cutting-edge (if you can excuse the pun) CNC Router. This gives us expert control over the custom-shaping of component pieces. And for this reason, we are the first called when both local and national businesses need products from custom-sized acrylic sheets.

Our large display units for the Bradman Museum provide a fine example of the quality of our manufacturing processes.
